We visited our favorite Styria for a long weekend, this time not only for wine, but the main program was participation in three exhibitions in Graz.

Both Freddy and Hugo did very well, although the conditions were very rainy and cold this time (unheated hall). Both of them ran and showed beautifully, judges at CACIB shows judged very carefully and we also had a lot of fun in the ring :-) And on Sunday Hugo showed under his owner and they won again J-BOB in Junior class.

Big thanks to the Austrian Beagle Club (ABC), which takes care of the nominations of judges for international shows in Austria for the Beagle breed, provides the staff of the ring and what is the most amazing supplies a lot of prizes (cups and cockades) for the winners of each class and breed. So besides the great results themselves, we also brought back a bunch of cups (5 in total from ABC) and one beautiful medal and cup from the show organizers. We are rightly proud members of this club organization abroad!

Unfortunately, a bit of a pain are the local space possibilities of the main ring, virtually the preparatory ring for the final competitions and also a bit of organization of the final competitions - unfortunately in the Puppy and Junior classes there is a large number of dogs and people, a lot of spectators who are crowding into the area of waiting dogs, which especially Hugo was not at all excited and Freddy was also not enjoying the waiting and frolicked.

On Saturday, another promising young junior handler Ester Mihálekováhelped us with Freddy's performance in the final round and we congratulate her for the overall JH victory on Saturday and 2nd place in the older category on Sunday.

Hugo successfully started another adult championship, this time in Austria.

We got nice reports from other judges we met for the first time: on Saturday morning Mr. Willi Güllix (DE) and on Sunday Mr. Roman Rovanšek (SLO). And we enjoyed a lot of fun and movement in the ring on Saturday evening under the guidance of the well-known judge Mrs. Sonija Momčilovič Bognič (SRB).

Of course we did not miss the international dog shows in Bratislava, which followed the Victory Dog Show.
And here we continued in a similar vein. I'm thrilled with how both of them work not only in the ring, but throughout the show day. In addition, we have already met other friends here, the boys saw their friend Jeremi z Kunčiček again and we enjoyed the whole day together (not forgetting the refreshment stands with a variety of drinks :-) ). Thanks to all our friends for their support!

The final star this time was Freddy, which on Sunday he "grabbed" together with his handler Petra Kolegarova 2nd place in the final competition for the
Best Puppy of the Show and also won the big cup!

Overall results are absolutely amazing and it is an honour to compete with the biggest star in Slovakia among beagles Elliott Little Carpathians and his handler
for the best adult dog (we will beat you one day anyway!). Res. CACIB counts!

We have to thank also both judges - Mrs. Gabriela Ridarčíková (SK) and Mr. Štefan Šinko (SI), who gave us beautiful professional opinions on both dogs and appreciated what we have learned together in the ring.

Hugo not only added two more CACs for adult Slovak Champion, but also started International Champion.

Although we didn't know until the last moment whether we will be able to participate in the top of the show season in Slovakia, we finally went with both dogs.

And I must say we are very happy! First of all, in the ring itself we met a very nice approach of the judge Viera Staviarska (SK). We have met her before, but this time we enjoyed the positive atmosphere and professional judging even more.

But the best thing is that Hugo finally! took to the grace of the show and showed his best. This change is a reward for a lot of training and thinking how to do it (thanks to Lenka Frnčová for her advice on how to get there!).

Both of them confirmed their Slovak championships from 2024 and Hugo also started the adult Slovak champion. And we also brought back a total of three trophies 🙂

On Sunday 9.2.2025 our beagle boys Hugo and Freddy started at CACIB Katowice 2025. We looked at our Freddy's home country.

Got Exc.3 in Junior class (3/4).

Freddy – Piccolino z Negraland (FCI)

Won the Best Puppy of the Breed (1/6) - Najlepsze Szcenie w Rasie - and advanced again to the final ring.

We enjoyed the whole weekend in Katowice – Gliwice including sightseeing.

On the weekend we made a trip to Slovakia again, where on Sunday both dogs competed on the last day of the international Carnival Cup Dog Show in Nitra.

Freddy (Piccolino z Negraland (FCI)) was last time in Minor Puppy category, he got VP1 and even though the judge didn't write the judgement, he got verbal praise.
In the final rounds, he held his stance beautifully for an interminably long time and then showed himself nicely in the final ring.

Hugo (Néreus Hare and Hounds) got VG2 in junior class, but he deserves praise for how he ran nicely in the ring this time.

All in all, we enjoyed the trip not only in Nitra, but on the way back we also visited Prostějov for lunch with nice friends.

At the first domestic show in 2025 both our beagles started together for the first time.

Freddy won VN2 in the puppy category. He showed himself nicely and it is obvious that he enjoys shows.

Hugo in the young category got Exc.1 and CAJC. Even though he was very angry, he and his handler did very well.
