  • Hugo visits Jerry in Zlín – 22.-26.6.2025

Friends are just friends! So our Hugo didn't go home to Freddy after his hunting training in Austria, but extended his "vacation" by a few days with his friend Jerry in Zlín.

The weather was great and the boys enjoyed lots of trips around Zlín, this time even with the three of them and "the black intruder" Attila (i.e. the Slovakian hound). Many thanks to Petra for the great program for all the dogs! Hugo came back in a good mood and in great shape.

We look forward to Jerry visiting us in Karlštejn neighborhood again sometime in return.

Freddy is happy to have his big brother home again; without him, it was just boring with only his mistress around :-).

  • Intercanis Brno – 21.6.2025

Only Freddy participated in other exhibitions in Brno, because Hugo was studying hunting skills abroad, specifically in Styria, Austria, at a course organized by the Austrian Beagle Club.

Unfortunately, Brno did not bring us much luck this time. Freddy had difficulty coping with the warm weather and the long journey from the previous days, and his performance in the junior class was awarded a VG3 rating. He was once again handled by the excellent young junior handler Anna Plundrová, who had a rather difficult task this time – the very high show table and the almost adult size of our beagle caused some problems, and Freddy did not like the table at all because he was not completely comfortable. He was also not at ease when moving. Nevertheless, we must appreciate the care and professionalism with which Anička handled the entire presentation in the ring and managed to show Freddy off.

We were delighted with the performances of all our cousins – Jeremi from Kunčičky with Anna Václavková, Attila Silesian Valley with Petra Ratajová, and King William Color Jewel with Marcela Sliacká – and especially uncle King – King Weinlinie from Negraland – with Lenka Frnčová. Together, we formed an amazing team, all the boys won their classes, and King, under the guidance of his owner, showed everyone how it's done – he won the entire beagle breed (BOB) and, on top of that, BIG2 FCI Group VI. We have a lot to learn! and we are honored to be close to such a well-coordinated team with vast experience.

  • Dog Expo Nitra and Club Show KCHB – 13.-15.6.2025

As members of the Slovak Beagle Club we did not miss the club show and when we went to Nitra, we also missed two of the three internationals that were held in the same place. Both beagles went on the trip only with one their owner (the other owner was abroad). In order not to have too much work in ring, only Hugo (Néreus Hare and Hounds) showed. But they had fun anyway, because Jerry (Jeremi z Kunčiček) with his owner Petra and uncle Michal completed the group.

Both starting beagles were alternately successful, but in the end both Hugo and Jerry left with honour and managed to finish Slovak Junior Champion, to which we congratulate Jerry and Petra very much.

But the mood was excellent despite the alternating successes, the whole group enjoyed it to the max and Freddy was glad he was on a trip and didn't have to show off :-)

  • Hugo is a Stud Dog! 7.6.2025

Dnešním dnem (7.6.2025) je to naše ušatý torpédo Hugo (Néreus Hare and Hounds) oficiálně mezi dospělými psy, rozuměj je z něj chovný jedinec.

Last week he passed his first BOB (Best of Breed) at International Dog Show Radom - Szydlowiec (PL) with BIG2 and today he and his handler Ester Miháleková the last beautiful dot with V3 from intermediate class at Club show of Beagle Club CZ.

In addition, along the way we gained a lot of excellent marks and evaluations, sometimes we also stumbled somewhere, but the overall results in the form of several valuable championships, many CAJC, J-CACIB, BOJ, CAC, adult CACIB, BOS and BOB are amazing.

    We are proud of him!

Thanks to all who accompanied us on our annual show trip – judges, handlers, friends.

And now Hugo, go to college – hunting training and trials with your owner.

  • Hugo and Jerry with ladies in Poland (International Dog Show Radom – Szydlowiec) – 1.6.2025

We really haven't stopped enjoying Poland yet :-). This time Hugo (Néreus Hare and Hounds) and his friend Jerry (Jeremi z Kuncicek) together with their owners went to Szydlowiec to the International Dog Show.
It was a long journey, but well worth it.

Hugo not only gained Exc 1 and CAC in the intermediate class, but even an adult CACIBand in the final he outdid himself and won his first BOB!
Jerry competed in the junior class and he also successfully won both Exc 1, CAJC and J-CACIB, and BOJ and both made it to the finals.

To our great surprise Hugo decided to cooperate a bit this time (probably he wanted to pull a Jerry :-)) and managed to make a "reparation" for his last performance in the finals in Stankov. He took away BIG2 from FCI Group VI and therefore another trophy for his collection.

Jerry and Petra managed to get the last title for International Junior Champion - congratulations!
Hugo and Pavla added second CAC for Polish adult champion and also third CACIB for International Champion.
And because we hoped that Jerry would fight, we had trophies for both boys for winning the International Junior Champion (C.I.B. - Junior). As fate would have it, both of them finished it at the International in Poland (although the original plan was for Hungary, but the show was cancelled).

Everything was judged with a smile and great erudition by judge Lenka Frnčová, whom we are always very happy to see.

And besides the show, Pavla and Petra also enjoyed the wellness in the hotel and the overall "ladies' trip".

PS: Freddy stayed at home with his owner to watch him 🙂 ... and also to keep him and his cousin "out of each other's hair" in the same class.

  • Clubsiegershow Beagle Club Schweiz, Menziken (CH) – 11.5.2025

On Saturday 10.5.2025 we left Monaco in the early evening for a long journey to Switzerland. This evening-night crossing through the tunnels over the Alps was really demanding and we arrived at our accommodation at 1:30 in the morning. Anyway, in the morning at 8 o'clock we were "on the mark" in the dog sports area in Menziken, where the club show of Swiss BC was held. So we started our spring series of participation in club shows of Beagle clubs in different countries.

Again only Hugo started in the intermediate class and in the competition of four dogs he took the victory in this class. We really didn't expect that, he also got the CAC title and another, already sixth, adult championship is on the world, this time in Switzerland. In the competition for the best dog we came across a well-known French male Un Dumbo O Grandes Oreilles De La Meute D´astérion, who won the whole show. With a total of more than 40 beagles, this club show is one of the biggest, moreover it was judged by judge Toke Larsen from Denmark, who is also a beagle breeder, so we appreciate the victory in the class in the competition.

We left for home on Monday and we couldn't miss Nuremberg on the way, even though it was a bit of a detour. But Nuremberg sausages are simply a must!

  • International Dog Show Monte Carlo (Monaco) - 10.5.2025

For several months we have toyed with the idea of going to the only international show that takes place in the exclusive setting of Monte Carlo in Monaco. It was alternately rejected and revived until finally we went for it :-). We made the first closing date for entries, which turned out to be a good strategy as the capacity of the show was filled before the second closing date.

Only Hugo started in Monaco and won his next CAC (CACM in original) in intermediate class (which is valuable in that only one is awarded in the sex of the breed). Finally we added Res. CACIB, but it was really only a close second to the winner from the champion class. And we also got our first judgement in Italian :-). By winning CACM Hugo ran another adult champion and probably we will be back next year.

We have a lot of experiences from this trip and show, interestingly, during this show it is obligatory to stay at the show until the afternoon, in the specific time between the morning judging and the afternoon final competitions it is possible to "go out with the dog" only on bail. The environment is quite demanding for dogs especially because of the space for walking, but then again who can say that he "marked" a few lawns and bushes in the Rosarium of Princess Grace.

  • Regional Dog Show in Staňkov - 8.5.2025

On a holiday day we went to the regional show for the first time this year to Staňkov. Regional and regional shows have the specificity that you don't know exactly in advance which judge will judge your dogs. We were all the more pleased to meet the judge Lenka Frnčová again :-). Every such meeting is very nice, but also quite obliging – we just want our performance with the beagle breed specialist to be perfect.

This time Freddy (Piccolino z Negraland) was again under the guidance of Petra Kolegarova, with whom he already won 2nd place in Bratislava in the Best Puppy of the Show competition, and Hugo (Néreus Hare and Hounds) finally under the guidance of Pavla.

Well - basic round - i.e. morning judging would be good, both of them tried hard and got praise for their performance. It was worse in the afternoon in the final competitions - in a word "disaster". It was as if they had no idea how long a journey they had ahead of them (we continued through Germany to France and to the International Show in Monaco, and from Monaco to Switzerland for the Beagle Club Schweiz). This "performance" will be for a very big repeat at a future show.

  • Hunting Dogs Show Jelesnia, Poland – 1.5.2025

Not to make Poland too small 🙂 we didn't miss the specialized National Hunting Dog Show in Bielsko-Biala region in Poland. We made it a three day trip with super accommodation in a cottage in Country Club Żywiec.

Freddy won the final competitions in the puppy class, Hugo started for the first time in Poland in the intermediate class and immediately succeeded there and got CAC, which started his way to the adult Polish champion.

The beautiful weather and pleasant environment of the smaller national show only enhanced the experience of this show trip.

    Results:

    Freddy (Piccolino z Negraland)
puppy class – VP1, Best Puppy in Breed

    Hugo (Néreus Hare and Hounds)

  • International Dog Show Opole, Poland – 26.4.2025

In April, we planned our second trip to Poland, this time to an international exhibition held in the beautiful surroundings of Moszna Castle near Opole, Poland.

The nicer the area was, the worse the surface of the ring was with uncut and completely wet grass and uneven surface. In addition, the staff assigned to the ring clearly did not know what to do. Nevertheless, we fought back and Hugo in his last start in junior class won the last BOJbut most importantly CACIB-J and CAJCthereby completing two championships (Polish Junior Champion and CIB-J).

Freddy Freddy still doesn't like the grass (especially not the tall one), but he eventually stood up nicely on the table and in Puppy class he was awarded VP1 and The best puppy in the breed. For Freddy, this result also means fulfilled conditions of the second puppy championship, this time in Poland.

Amazing positive atmosphere in the ring and smooth course of judging despite the above-mentioned obstacles was again prepared for us by a great judge Mrs. Lenka Frnčová, for which she deserves a big THANK YOU for all participating exhibitors.

And we added two more medals to our collection!
